Wellman in concert at Trinity Baptist Church Saturday

Mike Wellman, 2018 Male Horizon Vocalist, will be in concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH, 6076 Highway 142, Poplar Bluff.

A native of Michigan, Wellman lived in Arkansas most of his life. At a young age, he started singing in his father’s church before he could see over the pulpit. His love for Southern Gospel Music got stronger and in 1994 he felt called to spread God’s word in song and fell in love with the sound of Christian Country Music.

In 2000, Wellman was nominated to the Country Gospel Music Guild’s Male Horizon Vocalist conntest. In late 2015 he was asked to be part of a new Branson Show, so he and his wife moved to Branson, Missouri in 2016. While living in Branson, Wellman met Barbara Fairchild and her husband, Roy Morris, and was a part of their worship service at The Branson Star Theatre for 15 months.

In 2017, Wellman recorded his third CD “He’s Shaking The Walls” and released his second single “The Preacher Was Right.”
