Vaccines available today for those registered for mass event

Some of those who were registered for the mass vaccination event Friday at the former Hydro Adventures water park did not receive their vaccine.

Those people can go to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center between noon and 3 p.m. today to receive their vaccine from the Missouri National Guard, according to an announcement Saturday morning.

If they are unable to make it in that time period, they can call the Butler County Health Department at 573-785-8478 to schedule another time in the coming week to receive their vaccine.

The Friday mass vaccination clinic was the first in the state and officials said it was something of a test run, which served as a learning opportunity for how clinics should run.

Participants received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

The National Guard will be back in Poplar Bluff in three weeks to administer the second dose. Officials said Friday first doses will also be available at that second clinic.
