Adopted cat

brings joy

I just wanted to say that I have adopted a cat from Hicks Animal Clinic a week ago and I am disabled and she's eight months old and she has brought me so much joy and I also want to tell the people right now they don't have any dogs, but have probably 30 cats or more that need homes. They kittens and cats and they all are spayed or neutered and they have all their shoots. It's on Hwy. 53 passed Fred's and it's Hick's Animal Clinic and I imagine the cats would just be glad to have a home for Christmas just like you would enjoy them yourself. Thank you very much.

Incredible

waste of money

Hello, Speak Out. You know I don't know. Maybe it was a misprint, but how many jobs in Poplar Bluff pay $50,000 per year? That's $950 odd a week. And I just found it implausible that a supposed downtown Poplar Bluff renovation chairmanship or whatever would pay that much money. Any town with as many miles of bad streets as Poplar Bluff has -- no money to fix roofs on the municipal building and they are going to p*** off fifty grand a year in what basically is a political position -- incredible! Absolutely incredible! But you know Poplar Bluff was always called "Little Chicago" for more than one reason.

Great job by

Street Department

Many thanks to our Street Department. Those of you who pick up the leaves. Not only does it improve the appearance of our town, it improves our environment and stops those who burn in our streets. Thank you, again, Street Department. Great job! Happy holidays.
