Tired of being singled out

as a criminal

[mail] I don't understand the new ordinance about no smoking in the city's motels. Traveling I have stayed in Poplar Bluff on several occasions. I have stayed at, Holiday Inn, Super 8 and Comfort Inn over the years, and have been given a room that is used only for smokers. Why not insist that all things that can cause health issues for others have special rooms. I don't understand why it's just smoking. I have allergies to certain foods that are sold city wide in restaurants, most retailers, motels and even at the HOSPITAL. If second hand smoke can kill so can allergies. When are you going to take a stand against these things. I am tired of being singled out as a criminal. If I have to pay an extra deposit because I "might" smoke then it's only fair for others that eat peanuts in a motel room also pay an extra deposit. If I stay in a room you vacated I would like to have the extra cleaning done to insure my safety. And what about infectious diseases, hmmm.

Addendum: If I was misled to believe it was the city council, I apologize. My information came from the front desk of our motel. We were told it was a council decision.
