community

I am so proud of our Black community. I must tell you I am a white lady, I don't live in Ward 5 but I find Councilman Peter Tinsley very offensive. I knew he wouldn't have the class to step down . . . We must find a way to get him off the City Council. The City Council should not have a place for a racist. I can't believe Pearson and Rushin support him.

Ask before

you criticize

Yeah, you know, I seen in here about the guy complaining about the old mosquito truck and the police department using it. He ought to consider, they might be using that for an undercover truck or they may be using it to go out somewhere where they found a lot of stolen stuff to haul it in. It can be used for a lot of different things for the police department instead of buying a brand new one. He ought to ask the chief of police what they're using it for before he criticizes them. They get a brand new car, I think, about every year. They go through them there cars one right after another. They got a hard job to do. I think before you criticize the local police department, I think you ought to find out what they use that truck for. More than likely it's for under cover or it's for hauling stuff away when they don't have room or for when the police don't want to put it in their cars, probably. God bless America. Thank you.

Lockstep

with terrorists

I'm shocked that the Missouri Highway Patrol is marching in lockstep with domestic terrorists. When will the FBI be marching with the terrorists from Guantanamo?

represented us

I am writing regarding the veto override on the Farm Bill (captive deer breeders). Conservation Department vs Department of Agriculture.

Hats off to Steve Cookson for voting against the override. He represented the people he was sent to Jefferson to represent. That is his JOB!

Todd Richardson did not consider the people he was elected to represent. He is in Jefferson City to climb the political ladder and line his own pockets without regard to the people who elected him.

Doug Libla is another story altogether, not only does he not represent the people he was elected to represent but he is in Jefferson City to act like a "big shot" . . . he certainly does not want to be one of the "little people."

Could it be that the lobbyist in Jefferson were generous with their "perks"?? Or possibly that the captive deep breeder in our area is also a politician!

A+ program

Yes, I'm calling about the article in the paper regarding the state wanting to decrease the A+ program. The A+ program allows students to attain a higher education whereas they wouldn't be able to. They are also able to obtain a career for life. The A+ program allows them with potential for a higher education in select fields which we need here. We need more higher educated culture advantaged people living in -- our young people-- living here in Poplar Bluff.

I urge you to try to perpetuate some kind of petition against this.

get over it

For those who are angry with Peter Tinsley, get over it! This is still America and we still have freedom of speech. What he does on his Facebook is his business not yours.
