This is in regards to the article in the paper about the woman who worked at the college and was paid $94,000 a year and she's resigned but they're still going to pay her salary. This sounds like somebody knows where the bodies are buried.

Must pay

before you pump, really

Yes, I'm calling about the new law that was passed in Poplar Bluff for the gas that you have to pay before you gas. It's something to have a law. Other states have gas stations that just say "Pay before you pump." They don't have a law just the gas station owners themselves make their own rules. Since when do we have to have law for the entire city when not every station owner has that problem? Certain ones have it well then let them put a statement on their pumps that says, "Must pay before you pump." They can't turn them on if it's not turned on inside and you can't pump gas outside, so they could protect themselves. The reason why they lost so much money is because they didn't bother to protect themselves.

I've lived in other states and this is the first time I've ever lived in a town where they passed that law saying you have to pay before you can have your gas. I never use cash. I always use my credit card, but I will be buying my gas outside the city of Poplar Bluff.

Fulfill contracts for paycheck

Kudos to the person who wrote common sense budgeting. I am another person with the same views. Even Hollywood actors have to fulfill their contracts. Who are these people to quit in midstream for higher paying jobs and still get paid from the old one? They are ruining our colleges and we are letting them.

Cable jumpin' and fadin'

What is wrong with our cable in Poplar Bluff? You cannot watch television because there's no signal or it's jumpin' around and the pictures fadin'. It is just pathetic! I have called 'em and called 'em. I bet if you don't pay your bill that'll get their attention. Thank you.

Where are

recycling bins?

Where have the recycling bins gone? Has the recycling company gone out of business? I have been down there every week and the cart is not out for us to put our recyclables in. I wish the newspaper would write something about the recycling company being or going out of business or let us know what's going on. I hate to throw this stuff into the trash but that's what I'm having to do cause there's nowhere else to put it. Thank you.

A discredit

to our town

You know it looks to me like someone could do something about that old junky garage across from the old nursing home on the east side as you just cross the bridge. It just looks so terrible. And that must be awful for those people in that nursing home to have to look at all day. My goodness! A fence or something or just clean it up for heaven's sake. What a discredit to our town.
