Town needs a 24 hour pharmacy

I agree with the person who called in about the 24 hour pharmacies. I myself work 25 miles away from Poplar Bluff, which when we have a sick grandchild or someone else sick in the family at the hospital, at the new hospital, and we have to drive 25 miles home, I think there should be a 24 hour pharmacy where we can get our medicine when needed. This is not fair to anybody. This is not fair to the elderly. This is not fair to the children or anybody else. We need a 24 hour pharmacy. We have 24 hour other things don't we? So why not have a pharmacy at the new hospital when we need prescriptions filled in the middle of the night. I think that they should take priority and put a pharmacy at the new hospital so the people who get out in the middle of the morning don't have to drive 50 miles two ways to get medication for their family members. Thank you.

Free disposal needed for tires

In the past during Buff up the Bluff, Expert Tire allowed residents to bring tires to their business for free disposal. Since they have gone out of business, none of the other tire companies in town have stepped up to take up the slack. So, in the future with Buff up the Bluff coming up, why not have some of the other companies such as Walmart, Raben Tire, Plaza Tire, Hart Tire, why can't some of these guys take over where Expert Tire left off and allow residents to bring their tires for free disposal? Thank you.

Clean up park

[website] On sunday I took my children to Bacon Park, which is owned by the Kiwanis. The motto for the Kiwanis is "children first" Apparently it is children first, then drunks, prostitues, and vagrants next. In the parking lot next to the highschool, on the football field end, the parking lot has been used to do donuts, there is beer and whisky bottles in the grass, an old tire, and a box of CONDOMS!!! An empty condom wrapper is laying in the parking lot, a used condom on the other side, broken glass, and the signs by the pathway has been vandalized. I asked another parent about it, they replied "(bacon park) is a place you dont go to after dark". There is a faded sign at the entrance (where apparently the was a gate at one time) that shows the hours. Guess the park is for illiterates too. I spoke to another person there, said that he walks the park daily, he said that the tire has been there for months, and the condoms and beer bottles are regular occurances. I took pictures to maintain their prosperity, in case the kiwanis want them for their yearbook.

I thinks it high time that the kiwanis step up and live by their motto, clean up the park, put up a gate. Maybe the police need to stop by once in a while too?
