Reader dislikes new station

How many people out there got Direct TV that thinks that new weather station sucks? You know go outside in a blizzard or hailstorm or anything else and get more information yourself than you can get for from weather station. I don't know how it ever got on the air to start with, but if I don't get my weather station back by the first of the month I'm gonna go to another source for my cable. I might even go to City Cable and that would be lousy. Thank you. God bless America, but I still say that new weather station is for the birds. Thank you.

No perfume please

I recently had a loved one in that new hospital and I'd like to make a comment. I realize patients and their families come in there and sometimes they ain't so clean and they're stinkin', but good God would somebody tell them doctors and them fancy nurses over there not to wear their perfume. Soap and water is all you need. Clean yourself real good. Don't put all that cologne on. I had a doctor come in Mom's room and, oh, my God, he smelled like he used a whole bottle of perfume on him. It was awful! Thank you.

Try 'em, you

will like 'em!

Have you tried the new Poplar Bluff hospital? Poplar Bluff Regional. I've got a baby sister, twenty years my junior, she just had triple bypass surgery, and she had a stroke while she was in surgery, and we thought we were gonna lose her, but those people out there are the sweetest, kindest people you have every wanted to meet. If you have a sick one or a loved one that you want to put into good hands take 'em to new Poplar Bluff Hospital. I highly recommend it. They are courteous. They're friendly and professional. It's not like the old hospital we used to have. This hospital is a great establishment. It is wonderful. Wonderful people. They are just as nice as they be and they just bend over backwards to help you now. I know they've all had good training and they are all good personalities, so if you've got a loved one or you are sick yourself go to the new Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. I'm 70 years old and I highly recommend it. I would never have went to the hospital --the old Lucy Lee-- but this new Regional is very professional and very wonderful God-fearing people. Try 'em, you will like 'em! And Poplar Bluff Regional, you, doctors and staff, God bless each and every one of you. I'll pray for you everyday for the rest of my life. You saved my baby sister's life and I love her with all my heart, so and I love you all at the Poplar Bluff Regional. Keep up the good work! God bless. Bye.

Don't burn

the forests

Please print this. I am against burning our beautiful forest lands of the Ozarks. The burning destroys wild flowers, small animal homes, birds' nests and destroys our timber. To see examples of this project it's easy to know their experiment will not work. Burned places along Highway 60 West before you get to Van Buren proves that fact. Our timberlands are what makes the Ozarks beautiful and famous. For the government to spend this money on the project is a waste and a disgrace and should not be. They picked the very worst times to do the burning: it destroys turkeys, hens' nests, destroys the dirt on the ground that gets washed away. It's ridiculous waste of money, time and energy and should not be done.Thank you.

I'll be first to say 'I told you so'

The school board idea is good. I just read that in Speak Out. Nobody's said not to build it out there. They're just saying they wished they wouldn't build it out there, but everybody's got their own opinion. This is America still yet. This is not all controlled by the Republican Party. You can't say this, you can't say that. Or I won't vote atta way if you don't vote my way. Everybody's got their own opinion. If you wanta build a school out on Oak Grove, build it out on Oak Grove. That's your prerogative, but my idea is they shouldn't! And one of these days a tornado does hit out there I'll be the first to say I told you so. But again if a maxi-tornado comes out of Ripley County and comes from the southwest and hits that school out there, it's definitely gonna take that new hospital out first. It's gonna march right through and tear the shebang apart. Stop and think about it. Go ahead and build it out there. I hope my grandchildren ain't in when it happens. God bless America. Bye-bye.
