Seek His blessing in righting the US

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

To the Editor:

What can we learn from our 12 days of government shutdown? "Waste not, want not" my Mama always would say. Each American needs to use all of our resources wisely, waste nothing, save worthwhile resources carefully, "Help those who are weak," but nobody sit down and quit helping, or doing his or her part in whatever needs doing that is at hand, or near enough we can reach it!

OAKS spells "Older Adults Keep Serving" in Southeast Missouri. We all must pay our reasonable taxes and help lift our share of our national debt and help prevent fraud.

We are blessed by our Creator to have been born in the greatest county on His Earth and all need to put our contribution in toward keeping it going and growing in the direction it was intended to go, no longer leaving it all up to the political leaders, but young and old of all classes and nationalities, colors, and creeds, keep doing our best at whatever job at hand needs to be done, just helping together to guide our great "ship of state" along on the paths of righteousness . . . "forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek."
