America: A society in a nose down spiral

Friday, January 13, 2012

To the Editor,

I am sick and tired, of being sick and tired of the so-called people who claim I am an American and pay taxes! I have to respond to some of these ridiculous Speak Out articles that have been in the paper lately. You people really need to wake up!!! This country is on the verge of default. Half of the people in this country cannot comprehend what that means!!

I was standing behind a young woman at a checkout line in Wal-Mart a few years ago with a little boy around three or four. He was having an absolute temper tantrum because he wanted some candy off the shelf. This was not a regular kid crying for candy, he was having a "Full Tilt Bozo" tantrum. I quietly suggested to her that a good old fashioned spanking on the rear would probably cure a little of that and behold, you would think that I killed her seven house dogs and stole her welfare check!! She verbally attacked me like a wild Tom Cat with alcohol rubbed on his read end!! I again informed her that some disciplinary tactics that she was attempting to display on me would have probably prevented this conversation, had she put forth the same effort on disciplining her son. The conversation ended there because she could not defend her actions and could not respond. Was I out of line? Maybe. Should I have said anything, maybe not. I suppose the truth hurts more than you know. (John 17, 17, Sanctify them through they truth; they word is truth). The young woman than paid for her purchase with a government issued welfare card. When my purchases were added up, I asked the cashier what buttons I could push to get the "Taxpayers" to pay for my stuff? She looked at me like I was the idiot! I have known for years prior to this little 45 second exchange that we as a society are in a nose down spiral.

I am retired military and have been all over this earth and lived in numerous cultures. I know that the good old USA is in trouble as a society and we are getting worse by the second! We have a "Give Me" mentality as a whole and it is a cancer this country may not be aware of, but what is more important than the proper raising of our children. We have to teach them accountability and responsibility! If we do not as a mom and dad, we are failing them terribly, and in turn they will fail. If we continued down this road unchecked, we, as a nation, are up a well known tributary with no notable means of propulsion.

We have an administration now in power that does not understand accountability and responsibility, as most before, and does not have a clue of how a prosperous economy functions. A prosperous economy means prosperous businesses. Prosperous businesses means making a profit just to survive, including paying taxes. The evil profits, go figure! The people who are reading this article bought it from a private business, the DAR. Do you think the DAR would be available to you six days a week if they did not make some kind of profit? It cost an employer approximately $15 an hour for the employee to make $10 per hour, most going to government taxes and the rest to unemployment insurance. That does not include an employers' cost of a CPA, liability insurance, vehicle insurance, with overhead too numerous to mention (Overhead to you ignorant people means paying for the building, insuring it, insuring your employees, etc, etc). Then the employee pays their share of government taxes and may take close to $8.50 an hour home. Most of you welfare recipients can't comprehend this! Where do you think your welfare check, food stamps, etc. comes from, our taxes. Never in the history of this country has the government made a profit on anything, it is not a business. The worst thing overall is, the vast majority who are "Elected" into federal office have never ran even a small business. They do not even fathom how a business functions.

Political correctness has become so ingrained in people that common sense seems to be no longer used. A call into "Speak Out" titled, "Creating a negative attitude" suggested that we should pick on the Jews, the Catholics, Baptists, Pentecostals or another religious group and stop picking on Muslims and that we are ignorant in Butler County. I do want to remind the caller that there were no Jews, Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Latter Day Saint or even a Seventh Day Adventist hijackers on 9/11! Well crap there were no Amish or Mennonites either!! Oh, was there a Buddhist or Hindu?? Real Americans have a right to be concerned!!

If we continued down this path of the entitlement mentality and political correctness, we in this whole country are going to fall into bankruptcy. You can choose to ignore the obvious signs or you can choose to make a difference by contacting your representatives and tell them to quit this foolish political correctness!

People say you have worked, but for who? I bet it was not for a POOR man/woman. You demonize big energy and big insurance, or even Eddy Justice! Where do you get your electricity from, or your gasoline from, or your natural gas from, or even your water from? How about food and clothes? What would you do if your car plowed someone in the rear end because you looked down and changed your radio to Howard Stern? How would you feel about insurance then? Ask the people of Joplin or the people down south about insurance! What would Poplar Bluff do if Walmart, Kmart, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Burger King, Briggs, Mid-Continent, Colton's, County Mart, Nordyne, Kroger, Holiday Inn, Blackwell-Bladwin, Fazoli's, Hardees, etc., etc., closed their doors?? Whether big business or small, it is how this country has worked and "It" is on the verge of failing, thanks to people who have drank the liberals Kool-aid through the left wing shows. I say shows because most media, which died a long time ago, do not have journalists anymore; they have opinionates!!

The D.A.R. limits me to a certain amount of lines which they have every right to do so I will conclude; If we, as a country, continue to ignore what is happening financially or politically, we can categorize ourselves into four groups according to Webster; Category 1: Idiot; an utterly "foolish" or senseless person. A person hopelessly deficient, especially from birth, in the ordinary mental powers; (Refer to Proverbs 15:2 to see how God feels about Fools). Category 2: Stupid; lacking ordinary activity and keenness of mind; mentally slow; dull. Characterized by indicative of, or proceeding from mental dullness; foolish. Category 3: Ignorant; lacking knowledge or training; unlearned. Lacking knowledge about a particular subject or fact. Uninformed; unaware. Category 4: Apathy: absence of emotion. Lack of interest or concern. Insensibility to suffering; unfeeling; indifference.

One last thing to show how out of control this government is; Recently there was a woman living in Haven House with her 18 y/o daughter who out stayed her 90 days there. Our taxes are now paying her $500 a month rent, as well as $200 a month for her 18 y/o daughter, full food stamps and several hundred dollars in living expenses. She is fully capable to work as well as her daughter. Will she or her daughter look for a job, I doubt that. Multiply that by hundreds of thousands across this country who are doing their drugs and living off you!

Can anyone figure why God is no longer blessing this country?
