Christians

please vote

The nuts or nutty people in this country are trying to take away everything pertaining to Christianity. People! If you are a registered voter, express your right. If you are not a registered voter, why not? If you are a Christian. Pray. If you are not a Christian, why not?

Baker family

says thanks

On behalf of the Baker Family and Pentecostal Holiness Church, I would like to thank DAR, radio stations and the singers, musicians, all who brought food, those who attended the singing but most of all a great big thanks for the donations to the funeral expense. Kenny had lots of friends. Thank you.

Just get

over it

Poplar Bluff school district parents -- You know I have no problem buying my kids' school supplies. People need to stop complaining about buying copy paper and whatever else these children have to have for school unless they are out there on crack or whatever. At least you know where the money is goin' -- your kids are gettin' an education.

And, the next thing is stop complaining about the buses because the bus district has their routes. And people parking in parking lots, people's yards and stuff. Put up a sign--Don't park in your yard! A lot of people would rather take their kids to school -- at least they know they're safe and not being molested. And another thing, you know, I take my kids to school, so get over it, Poplar Bluff. It's a new term and a new age. Get over it!

Enough

is enough

Can we the American public afford four more years of Democratic rule? Ask yourself that. Look at the price of milk. Hovering at about the same price as a gallon of gasoline for goodness sakes. Food prices soaring and on January 1st, our energy prices are going to soar just as our president promised thanks to the EPA enforcing a draconian rule on CO2. So, ask yourself, can an agenda-driven special interest presidency, where the budget is now, simply for special interests and no longer for "We, the People." Ask yourselves as a taxpayer--is it not time to demand, stand up, call your representative and your senators and whoever else you can grab by the ear and just say, "Enough is enough." We rule the government. That's why we're a republic. Remember that. So, ask yourself, the next time you are out shopping or filling your car. Can you truly afford four more years of Democratic rule? I don't think I can, and I don't think America can either. And, the Republicans, themselves, are no better.

Your opinion,

it stinks

This is in response to the Sept. 4th article titled, "Wake up and Smell the Coffee." I rescue dogs that are abandoned, sick and starving. These animals are God's creatures and depend on us for their care and well-being. Dog-addicted? Maybe. Compassionate? Definitely.

At this time I have 19 dogs, so I do have a yard and house full, but my children, who are grown, have never gone hungry. Besides, I adopted two children who have been well cared for. By the way, there are many commercials on TV about children in need which I currently donate to.

Now, you are entitled to your opinion, but I say opinions are like a person's breath. Everyone has one, but some of them stink!

City needs to

start e-billing

In this period of government's attempt at cutting expenditures, doesn't it make good economic sense for the PB Municipal Utilities and Cable to reduce spending by offering e-billing? At least give the taxpayers the option of either continuing to use expensive paper or moving into the 21st Century and using less expensive e-billing.

I pay my bill electronically. Why not receive my bill electronically?
