Soldiers, loved ones gather at Veterans Wall to remember

The Poplar Bluff Veterans’ council and the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center hosted their annual program to honor all veterans Saturday. The formal ceremony was held at the Veterans Wall outside of Black River Coliseum. The ceremony featured many community members and local veterans.

MMC Emmett Morgan (U.S. Navy- retired) was the keynote speaker during the Veterans Day ceremony Saturday morning. Morgan spoke of his military experience and shared his stories of being a member of the Army and Navy.

Chaplain Roy Lee, a member of the Marine Corp. rises to be recognized during Captain James Todd’s (U.S. Air Force) performance of the Armed Forces Medley. All service members and branches of the military were recognized during the performance.
