Larry rests after escaping a fire that destroyed his home in the 800 block of Poplar Street on Tuesday. The dog, also known as Parvo Larry because he survived the infection as a puppy, was in the burning home for at least 30 minutes until he was able to jump out of a window. Poplar Bluff firefighters were able to enter the house and search for Larry but were unsuccessful before the roof collapsed, forcing them out. As firefighters were breaking a window to vent out smoke, Larry appeared. He jumped through broken glass, cutting the top of his head, and ran away before finding his relieved owners.
