My how time flies
Luke 14:23, “And the Lord said unto the servant, go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
Nine years ago, the first Sunday in July, we officially started Highway Baptist Church between Poplar Bluff and Greenville not knowing what the Lord had in store for us, just following the will of God.
My wife and I are so grateful to our church family at Highway Baptist and to our community. We have been accepted with open arms.
The Lord has blessed our church work with many souls saved in the last nine years.
Families have been helped, marriages mended, drug and alcohol dependence has been overcome and a strong growing and thriving church has been established.
In the past nine years, I have had the privilege of watching the people here fall in love with God and his word.
God has given us capable men to fill positions as the church has needed them. God has given us gracious, modest women to be examples to the younger women and to teach children about our savior.
I have learned through the years here that God is faithful. God has allowed us to build and remodel. He has given our church a great burden for this community.
God has proven that it’s not necessary to compromise with world, its music or philosophies when it comes to building a church.
Highway Baptist Church is sticking to the old paths of godly music and spirit filled preaching and exciting worship.
Here at Highway we teach that the Christian life does not merely have to be endured, but it can be enjoyed. Serving God is a blessing not a burden.
This Sunday, July 5th, we will have a celebration at our church, 24371 Highway 67, Greenville.
We would love for you to come and see for yourself why our church is such a big deal.
I would like to extend a personal “thank you” to the DAR for allowing me to write a monthly column.
I would love to meet you and introduce you to Jesus. For more information about our church, please log on to our website at highwaymbc.org or download our app for android and Iphone.
At Highway Baptist Church, we are building a better community.
