Reader poll results: Do you intend on getting the coronavirus vaccine?

Thursday, December 24, 2020

We asked readers to share with us if they will take the COVID-19 vaccine.

Our results might surprise some of our readers.

Of the 217 votes cast as of Dec. 23, just under 63% said yes, while 22% said no. Another 15% want to wait and see how things go.

Here are some of the comments we received in response to the question:

— “The Vaccine is available ... get your shot and let’s end Covid19 and get back to normal. I am tired of staying home and wearing a mask in public,” said exray653@aol.com.

—“EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE THE SHOT THEY HAVE NO RESPECT NOT TO,” said Gonesouthtoflorida.

This comment upset PBOSF, who had a lengthy response, only part of which we’ll print here.

“I’m sorry to point this out but the only person showing NO RESPECT was you with your comment that if anyone disagrees with you, they must have no respect because everyone must take the vaccine simply because you say so,” PBOSF said. “Start doing your own research and listening to BOTH sides of the matter. You’d be surprised what you learn when you listen to what many scientists and doctors who are outside of “big pharma” have to say about it.”

And finally, there was warl2, who simply responded, “I take the pneumonia and flu shots. I’ll take the Covid shot for the same reason; protection for my 75 year old body.”
