This country desperately needs healing

Saturday, November 7, 2020

All I can say is, Lord help us all.

The recent election has our vast nation in a turmoil worse than ever before. Not since the Civil War has this nation been so divided and if we are not extremely careful, we could be headed in the direction of another one.

I have never denied who I supported, President Donald Trump, but I have never degraded Joe Biden. We have been living in a country for many years where our voices were a strong voice, one most people listened to without bias. But, now it’s one where words spoken are considered to be wrong, hurtful, racially motivated or just taboo.

Because of this election a country once known to be solid and feared has now become a laughing stock to all those who do not live here.

No wonder we have so much ignorance because all people want to do is point fingers at everybody instead of standing up and saying, “Hey, I did it. It was my fault.”

Just because someone is a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, it should not matter because we are all AMERICANS and right now I am ashamed to claim this title.

I am 59 years old, soon to be 60 and never in my life have I been so embarrassed at the way we are right now and it appears it will continue down this path for years to come.

As you can see, I have not degraded a single person with this writing other than myself.

I have not mentioned one single name in a negative tone because I am a Christian man, one who believes in the Almighty God above. Saying this, I just want to pass along this little tidbit of information…. “If we can see this hatred and destruction, then you know darn well our Lord and Savior can see it better than us.”

After people read this, some might say, “Well if you are ashamed of our country, then leave.”

This is exactly the point I am trying to put across.

Instead of saying leave, we should be banning together to help cure the hurt. I love this country with all my heart. I served for 7 ½ years in the best Navy in the world, so do not tell me I do not love our land.

In closing, whoever wins this election, be it Donald Trump or Joe Biden, I will respect them because this is what Americans are supposed to do, whether we like it or not. We have to adjust and adapt to a different way of life just as we always have in the past. I pray we can all just see the ways and help heal this pain this country desperately needs.

GOD BLESS
