We should not let political correctness keep those of us who love our country from speaking out

To the Editor:

We humans yearn for freedom of movement, religion, thought and expression. I am afraid there are those which want to prevent much of the freedom we seek. Currently we are in the middle of a pandemic which is being utilized by some movements in order to destroy our government and replace it with a more restrictive form. The Corona Virus is scary; however we continued life during the polio epidemic of the forties and fifties without shutting down business, churches, sports and schools.

There has been a movement for decades to change our history and prevent the learning of true history by those who want to change our country into a socialist country. Communism did not go away when the Soviet Union fell. Those people are still active all over the world.

At one time in our country the two main political parties had liberal and conservative wings which debated and compromised. They then met the opposing party with ideas which had been openly debated and subjected to reason. Sadly this is no longer the case. We have become so polarized today we have difficulty even talking to each other.

We can learn much by studying history such as the French revolution when intellectuals like Maximillian Robespierre desired change by inspiring and supporting mobs who were beheading those they thought oppressed or opposed their ideals. It was not long until the same mobs beheaded Robespierre.

Clever leaders in China, Russia, Italy, Japan and many other countries utilized unrest and even supported unrest to gain power which eventually took their people into wars the people thought would liberate them but actually left them under the control of ruthless dictators.

I believe there are people trying to disrupt our society by taking advantage of unrest caused by a few misguided policemen and the Coronavirus. This unrest is being spread and promoted all over the world by Leftists and Marxists to take over governments including our own.

We should not let political correctness keep those of us who love our country from speaking out. Not to speak out when we see something we think is not good is in essence showing approval. We should understand that political correctness is being used as a tool to promote an agenda. It was used in Russia, Germany, China and other totalitarian countries to suppress all opposition.

I pray the people of the United States will understand we are in a battle to save our wonderful, albeit imperfect country and seek God for wisdom and the will to speak out. We need good informed people of both political parties to speak out peacefully and politely.
