Help us recognize local talent with ‘Achieve’

Saturday, June 20, 2020

One of our most important jobs at the Daily American Republic is to recognize excellence in our community.

We want to shine a spotlight on those people, organizations and places that make our corner of the world a little, or a lot, better.

We do this in a lot of ways during the year, including special projects like ‘Difference Makers’ in late summer, which highlights the many good works of our residents, and ‘Ageless’ in July, which focuses on active members of our community who see age as just a number.

This year, we want to add another special project to the list, ‘Achieve.’

Achieve celebrates young professionals from our area who are impacting our lives by starting businesses, volunteering, educating our youth and seeking out new challenges every day.

We selected five individuals to feature in the first project, Ashley House, Mitch Davis, Madison Reagan, Emily Carpenter and Zack McAnulty.

You probably recognize some or all of them because they have already made a mark on our region. House and Reagan own and operate their own businesses, Davis teaches at Poplar Bluff High School and is active in many civic boards, Carpenter moved quickly from PBHS grad to local accountant, and McAnulty works in outreach, both through a position at Three Rivers College and as a pastor.

Please check out their stories in the DAR starting Tuesday and help us recognize another group of outstanding local residents. You can also find video interviews with them on the DAR Facebook page and our website, www.darnews.com, starting Tuesday.
