CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Machele Denise Mossman, 53, of Jackson, Mo., passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born June 14, 1964 in St. Louis, Mo., to Robert G. and Patsy A. (West) Henderson. Machele married Wayne Leroy Mossman on June 19, 1982 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and he survives.
She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and was an RN for the last 34 years at Saint Francis Medical Center, working in labor and delivery the last 18 years. She was a member of AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) and First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.
Loving survivors include her mother, Patsy Foust of Poplar Bluff; father, Robert G. Henderson of Dittmer, Mo.; husband, Wayne of 35 years of Jackson; son, Matthew Mossman of Austin, Tex.; daughter, Alicia (Jason) McDonald of Jackson; brother, Tim (Tracey) Henderson of St. Jacob, Ill.; sisters, Jan (Wayne) Faries of Dittmer and Amy (Jason) Burton of Indiana; grandson, Gavin McDonald of Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaelyn McDonald.
Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Wappapello Cemetery in Wappapello, Mo., with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation.
