Henry Leroy Hiles Jr., 60, of Poplar Bluff was well known for his love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He looked for any excuse to ride. When Hiles passed away April 14, 2021, his friends made certain his last ride was in a trailer styled after the horse-drawn carriages used in the old west and pulled by a 2002 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail trike. After his funeral Tuesday at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home, members of the Pharaohs and Maverick motorcycle clubs, along with independent riders totaling 22 bikers, followed as Mike Sutherland of Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois, took Hiles on his last ride. Sutherland and his wife, Judy, arrived in Poplar Bluff from Kansas City, where they had taken a veteran on his last ride Monday.
