Firefighters complete 110-flight stair climb to remember 9/11

Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at Planet Fitness, nearly a dozen Poplar Bluff firefighters did a 110-story stair climb in remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The climb is for the 343 plus firefighters who died on 9/11 or have since died from having worked at Ground Zero.

Nearly a dozen Poplar Bluff firefighters did a 110-story stair climb Saturday in remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Saturday's event raised money for Supporting Heroes, which provides support to the families of public safety personnel firefighters, law enforcement and emergency-medical-services who died in the line of duty.
The full gear worn by firefighters weighs between 45-70 pounds.
