What desire in your life is God not able to fulfill?
In Matthew 21:18-32, it was early in the morning, Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked. Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what is done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
If you believe… not some things, all things will be done for you. Things will be removed out of your way and breakthrough will be produced.
The fig tree had just leaves on it and no fruit because it was not the season for figs to be on the tree. The correlation here is even when our lives are out of season or in a dry time, fruit can still be produced because the season does not bring us the fruit. The Holy Spirit is the bearer of the fruit within us. This means provision will be provided for you and prosperity can flow in your life even if provision and prosperity are realistically not in season yet.
It does not matter if you have “month” left at the end of the money, even in the midst of that season, where you are struggling to keep your head above water, God can provide and prosper you. Your paycheck is just one resource but as co heirs with Christ, God has unlimited avenues and resources that are available to you.
2 Timothy 4:2; “Preach the Word in season and out of season. Correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.” This is not just for preaching. It’s a faith thing,
I will believe, I will proclaim the Word of God. I will speak it over my life and receive the Word of God as being for me and my life. I will believe all things will come to pass in my favor because God is always faithful.
I will believe that my faith is able to move mountains out of my path and my life because my God is for me and not against me.
In Matthew 21:28-32, Jesus tells a story of a man who has two sons. The Father asked his son to go work in the vinyard. The first son refused to go but later he went to work in the vinyard. The second son said he would go work in the vinyard but never did go to work. Jesus then asked the question; “Which one was obedient to his Father.” Though the crowd believed the first son was obedient, Jesus quickly reminded them in only a way Jesus could, slow obedience is no obedience.
We must remember that God can do more than you can ask, seek or imagine according to his power that is within you. (Ephesians 3:20)
God cares enough to set us free from our sins and also the ways that we used to think. I gladly refer to this as our “Stinkin’ Thinkin’!”
How do we get rid of that stinkin’ thinkin’ and walk in the faith God has called us to step out in? Here are three ways to change our thoughts:
Are you dying to yourself daily? (More of Jesus, Less of me)
Can you back up what you are prompted to do with scripture? If not, you need to resist those thoughts and ideas.
Is what you feel in your heart confirmed through relationships, opportunities and resources that make you believe God is opening the door?
We must believe that our desires that are in and from God will come to pass.
Even the bones of Joseph ended up in their proper resting place.
The Lord makes good on his promises.
Genesis 50:24-26 - Joseph’s faith was in God’s Promise that Canaan would be his people’s homeland. Joseph requests that his bones be taken to the land of promise. Four hundred years later, when the Israelites left Egypt to head towards the promised land they take Joseph’s bones with them. (Exodus 13:19)
Joshua 24:32; Joseph’s bones, after approximately 440 years are finally buried in the promised land. Joseph had died in Egypt after his father Jacob. He had left a dying wish that he would someday be buried in his homeland and that is exactly what happens. Joseph’s bones were with them when Moses, under the power of God, split the Red Sea in half and leads the Israelites out of Egypt. “We hittin’ the road jack we ain’t coming back no more, no more, no more no more!”
“We hittin the road Jack and we ain’t coming back no more!”
This is what we need to know concerning this scripture passage about Joseph’s bones as they relate to our lives. If the Lord cares enough to have a divine order concerning the resting place of Joseph’s bones, what desire in your life and mine is God not able and willing to fulfill?
Be blessed my friends and peace on Earth, y’all!
