What’s your twenty? Walking with Jesus is a moment by moment journey
Panic settled in as I made loop after loop around my home. I yelled louder and louder, but with no answer. “Where on earth could he have gone? And how did he disappear so quickly? I stepped inside for only a moment.”
Wyatt was about two years old when he about caused me a heart attack. He was playing in the yard when I stepped inside for a minute. A moment later I walked back outside, and he had vanished. My heart sank when I could not find him, so I grabbed the phone, ready to call in the calvary. Did I mention our home sat in the middle of the woods with acres upon acres on all sides? Yeah. Panicking is an understatement.
A few weeks ago my hubs shared something with me that the Lord had put on his heart and it wowed me. The Lord said to him, “what’s your twenty?”
For those of you not married to a trucker or certified in CB radio slang, it means “where you at”.
As we head into a new year, I think it’s only right to reflect a little and ask ourselves this bold and somewhat frightening question. What’s your twenty?
This question takes me back to the garden of eden.
“GOD called to the Man: “Where are you?”” Genesis 3:9 (MSG)
God asked Adam where he was, not because God didn’t know, obviously, he knows everything. I believe He asked because He needed Adam and Eve to see where they were; separated from Him.
It’s easy for us to lose sight of where we are if we aren’t continually walking with the Lord. Adam and Eve walked with God and still lost their way. Walking with Jesus is a moment by moment journey. It takes our eyes continually fixed on HIM. Like with Wyatt, if we take our eyes off Him for a moment, we can find ourselves lost and hiding from the ONE who makes all things right.
I finally found Wyatt after several moments of fear and panic, but it took me turning around and running in the opposite direction. As I hollered and ran around the house, Wyatt was too and we kept missing one another. But when I turned around, I ran right into him. And boy was this momma’s heart glad.
Our father feels the same way. If you find yourself lost, turn around (repent) and you’ll run right into HIS arms! Right where you are meant to be. He wants to be where you’re at.
What’s your twenty?
