John Young

John Milton Young passed away on June 1, 2023 in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was born Oct. 9, 1950, in Fountain Head, Tennessee.

John was saved by the grace of God as a young boy, a devout Christian and member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, Tennessee.

After the Lord called John to carry the gospel, he served as an assistant pastor for the United Gospel Rescue Mission and pastor of the Township Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He had a passion for serving on mission trip teams and always went above and beyond to help those in need. John was an Electrical Project Engineer for Brown Printing Company.

Throughout his life, John nurtured countless memories with his friends and family. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Terry M. Young (Paula); sister, Karen Y. Ragan (Phil); nephews, Matt B. Young (Tiffany), Brent P. Young (Audrey), Charles Robert Ragan (Cheryl), Wayne Ragan (Carrie); as well as many great nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. “Moe” Young and Joan Hiett Young, and nephew, Charles Wade Young.

John’s kind-hearted nature and unwavering dedication to his service to the Lord, and to helping others are qualities that will never be forgotten. His dedication to serving those around him inspired all who knew him to follow in his footsteps. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of kindness and service to others will continue to touch the lives of those he impacted. Bro. John will always be remembered for his love for his almighty God and his dedication to the Lord’s church. He lived his life so that others would see Christ thru him and he was such a blessing to so many. John will be greatly missed but our loss is truly Heaven’s gain.

Funeral services for Bro. Young were conducted at noon Monday, June 5 at Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, Tennessee.
