Juvenile shot and killed, 1 in custody

DEXTER — Dexter police continue to investigate the shooting and killing of a juvenile, which occurred over the weekend.

According to Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham and the Dexter Police Department, officers were dispatched at 6:14 a.m. Saturday to a residence on Alice Street.

Authorities said officers located a deceased juvenile that had suffered a gunshot wound inside the residence.

Authorities said the Stoddard County Major Case Squad was activated and a juvenile suspect was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story and more information will be released as it becomes available from authorities.
