GREENVILLE — The Wayne County Health Center will be closed for the remainder of the week because of illness among staff.

“We are closed this week due to illness,” said administrator Rhonda Eads in an email.

Nursing staff, Eads said, “are working from home to follow up on all positive cases of COVID.”

The health center is expected to reopen Monday, Jan. 24, Eads said.

The Carter County Health Center also is temporarily closed because of staff shortages due to illness.

The facility is expected to be closed Tuesday and Wednesday but reopen on Thursday, according to a telephone recording.

Those who test positive for COVID-19 in Carter County will be contacted by a public health nurse. WIC appointments will be rescheduled, according to staff.
