POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded at 6:22 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, to a report of smoke in an apartment at 505 Oak St. It was determined an occupant was cooking and boiled food over onto a burner, creating the smoke. Firefighters used a positive pressure ventilation fan to remove the smoke from the apartment.

Firefighters responded at 11:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, to a report of smoke at 639 W. Victor St. It was investigation only.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, to the area of Main and Gardner streets for a reported vehicle accident. They were told to disregard before arriving on the scene.

Firefighters responded at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, to a reported electrical fire at the 1620 Wallace St. home owned by Cindy Cochran and occupied by Christina Rouse. Upon arrival, an occupant showed firefighters where the fire had been, and they discovered a strong smell of gasoline. They called a city police detective to process the scene.

BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

County firefighters responded at 2:13 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, to a structure fire at the 109 County Road 556 property of Vernon Nabert, where a shop building burned.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Charles T. Stacy, 35, of the 800 block of Lester Street was arrested at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, on a Butler County warrant for aggravated assault and a city failure to appear warrant for domestic assault. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Tommy L. Rouse Sr., 44, of the 600 block of Carolyn was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, on suspicion of first-degree arson. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Robert W. Riggs, 29, of the 1200 block of Mary Street was arrested at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Walmart Supercenter on suspicion of stealing. He was released pending review of his case.

Austin R. Turner, 22, of Dexter was arrested at 6:56 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Poplar Bluff Walmart Supercenter on suspicion of stealing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Angel L. Hesselrode, 18, of the 600 block of County Road 402 was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

Yasin E. Amin, 20, of Kansas City, Missouri, was booked Friday, Jan. 7, at the Butler County jail on failure to appear warrants for exceeding the speed limit and operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility. He later was released.

Rodney D. Calhoun, 54, of Qulin was booked Friday, Jan. 7, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and a warrant for forgery.

Nicole K. Hathaway, 26, of the 290 block of Discount Drive was booked Friday, Jan. 7, at the Butler County jail to serve 48 hours shock time.

Bobby J. Jones, 46, of the 280 block of Red Robin Lane was booked Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of first-degree domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Maci D. LeGrand, 29, of Qulin was booked Friday, Jan. 7, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. She later was released.

Dewayne D. Luttrull, 21, of the 6300 block of County Road 450 was booked Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of fist-degree endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest by fleeing.

Victor Ogole, 23, of Kansas, Missouri, was booked Friday, Jan. 7, at the Butler County jail on a felony failure to appear warrant and on suspicion of possession of marijuana and tampering with a prescription drug order.

Edward C. Reed, 63, of the 1400 block of Black River Industrial Park Drive was booked Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Butler County jail on a warrant for possession of marijuana. He later was released.

Herbert A. Smith, 41, of the 1900 block of Brentwood was booked Friday, Jan. 7, at the Butler County jail on two parole violation warrants.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

John C. Miller, 53, of Ellington was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, in Reynolds County on two felony probation violation warrants. He was booked at the Reynolds County jail.

David L. Ezell, 57, of Patterson was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, in Wayne County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Douglas L. Collins, 50, of Piedmont was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, in Wayne County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Kristian R. Collins, 40, of Piedmont was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, in Wayne County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Maria D. Anguiano-Herrera, 40, of Kennett was arrested at 7:29 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, in Stoddard County on a pair of Dunklin County misdemeanor failure to appear warrants, one for no seat belt and the other for no license. She was booked at the Malden Police Department.

Dasia E. Morris, 23, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:55 Friday, Jan. 7, in Butler County on suspicion of DWI, no insurance, failure to register a motor vehicle and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway. She was booked at the Butler County jail on a 12-hour hold.

Two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and County Road 517, one mile east of Dexter.

According to the report, a 16-year-old male was operating a 2013 Ford F-150 southbound when it failed to yield at the intersection and struck an eastbound 2000 Ford Excursion operated by Robert C. Mehrle, 28, of Caruthersville.

The 16-year-old male and a 16-year-old male passenger in his vehicle were taken by EMS to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Douglas J. Harwell, 55, of Harviell was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, in Butler County on suspicion of DWI (drugs) and no insurance. He was released.

Russell D. Jordan, 38, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, in New Madrid County on suspicion of DWI, speeding and no insurance. He was released.

A 46-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 1:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, on the U.S. Highway 60 eastbound exit ramp to U.S. Highway 67.

According to the report, Ellen Bridgeman, 46, of Bothell, Washington was operating a 2020 International northbound when it traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

Bridgeman was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
