City Firefighters responded to an alarm at 8:53 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the 1152 Sunset Drive apartments owned by Russ Redmond.

An occupant reported a smell, and when firefighters arrived, they used a thermal imaging camera, but could not find a fire. It later was determined the oven in the next door apartment had been placed in a cleaning cycle and was the source of the odor.


City Firefighters responded at 5:48 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, to a call of a two-vehicle accident at 1471 N. Westwood Blvd.

According to the report, firefighters assisted emergency-medical-services personnel with a patient and helped clear the roadway.


City Firefighters responded to a call at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at 221 S. Ninth St.

Firefighters assisted emergency-medical-services personnel with getting an unconscious patient to the ground level of the residence and packaging them for transport to a local emergency room.


County firefighters responded to an alarm at 3:41 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the 4550 Highway T residence owned by James Ferrell.

According to the report, the fire was contained to the furnace area.
