Harviell talk on future of rural work offered insight

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

I would like to acknowledge the people who attended the 'Conversations on the Future of SEMO's Work Force.'

Five members of the Harviell community came with questions and listened to the excellent information provided by:

* Jim Welker, Career Pathways Consultant from Southeast Missouri State University;

* Ryan Hendricks, HR Generalist from Briggs & Stratton;

* Diana Jenkins, Operations Supervisor from MOjobs Center;

* Alicia Davis, Project Supervisor from MOjobs Center;

* Heather Well, Curriculum Officer from Neelyville School District.

I greatly appreciate these people who took time from their personal lives to get together and discuss how we can help our rural population reach it's full potential. It's not fast and it's not easy, but it can be done. As a matter of fact we found that there are many organizations working for the future right now! I invite everyone to examine their aspirations and dreams. Assistance and direction can be found! Call me, Paula Moore, if you need more information to contact these people.

Keep reading the DAR for future meetings and free classes. Our newspaper is a great way to keep in touch. Many thanks to the DAR!

Again; THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! to all who attended!
