Royal Wedding brings back memories of walking in London

Thursday, May 31, 2018

To the readers of this paper did you watch the Royal Wedding? I did. And I do wish Harry and Megan much happeness. I am glad that I was not born into a Royal Family. Have to be a tough sort of person to be just a bit happy.

I watched the wedding with a bit more knowledge then the average American. As I have seen the Queen. When we were living in Virginia many years ago. The Queen came to Virigina. I do not remember why. There was an elderly couple on the job. John and Ann Shulth. Ann was a great admire of the Queen. And Ann wanted for me to take her to see the Queen. So we joined the thousands who were watching for the Queen.

Also years ago Grady was sent to the London office for some schooling. And I went with him. I spent the time Grady was in school, walking all over London. I feel like I walked at least 50 miles. Which I did enjoy. While I was watching the wedding I seen many places that I had seen the week I walked all over London. Me taking a walk in London was not unusual. Grady and I many times would park our car at a police station, then take a walking tour of the town. Had many people tell us we were not the usual Americans. We should be riding around in a car, instead of walking with the "natives." If we walked we could go into a shop that we thought looked interesting without having to park the car. Some times people would buy a sandwich for us. And many would walk along with us.

As I look back I feel I have had a wonderful life. If Grady hadn't of killed him self so young with his terrible use of tobacco and left me here so alone and lonely. But I shall keep on keeping on.
