FISK, Mo. - Margaret Catherine Duren passed away on February 10, 2018 at Westwood Hills Rehabilitation Center at the age of 99. Mrs. Duren was born January 27, 1919 in Vinita, Oklahoma to the late John DanielandAnna Josephine (Chandler) Bresnehen. She was married to Claude Duren in Vinita, Oklahoma onNovember 20, 1940. He preceded her in death onJanuary 7, 1969. Mrs. Duren was a long standing member of the Rombauer General Baptist Church. She lived on the family farm in the Rombauer area for many years and was a homemaker known for her baking skills such as peach cobblers, coconut cream and chocolate cream pies. She loved music and dancing and spending time visiting with family and friends. She was a member of The Delaware Tribe of Indians (Lenni Lenape) - Adopted Cherokee and was very proud of her native American heritage. She is survived byher childrenChristine (Howard) Overbeckof Gordonville,Carol (Ronald) Drobney of Columbia, and Glenn Duren of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren: Howard Overbeck, Jr. of Perryville; Robert (Rhonda) Overbeck of Cape Girardeau; Angela (Joe) Mosley of Gordonville; Dana Moss of Grand Prairie, TX.; and Shannon Tiffany of Poplar Bluff; eight great grandchildren: Joshua Overbeck, Kayla Overbeck, James and Joseph Mosley, Kinsey Upchurch, Cory Wolcott, and Michael and Lucas Tiffany; two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that she thought a great deal ofanda specialdog named Bingo who loved to visit her at Westwood Hills. She was also preceded in death by one son: Charles Duren; one grandson: Roger Overbeck; six siblings: Paul Bresnehen, Elizabeth Cusick, Rose Hogue, Dugan Bresnehen, Madison Bresnehen, and Jack Bresnehen. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday February 13 at White-Sanders Funeral Home, Fisk. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, AR. The family wishes to thank Dr. Austin Tinsley, his staff and the staff of Westwood Hills Rehabilitation Center for the care given to Mrs. Duren during her stay at the Center.
