The taxpayer

foot the bill

Speakout

To the person who wanted to know who pays President Trumps expenses to travel to Florida each week. I guess it is the same people who paid for Bill Clinton to hop around all over the country in Air Force One. For George Bush to go half way around the world unannounced to have Thanksgiving Dinner with the troops in Iraq, and even come to Poplar Bluff on Labor Day of 2004 to make a speech as he began his re-election campaign.

It' s the same people who pay for Nancy Pelosi to fly home to California every weekend when she was Speaker of the House and complain because her plane wasn't as big as the presidents.

It's the same people who have paid for Obama to get on a plan and fly to Hawaii and play golf, to send his wife, mother in law and kids on vacations and shopping spree to Africa, Spain, France and Greece.

It's the same people who paid for Hillary to fly to 119 countries as she bragged about last fall during the campaign, maybe if she would have visited more than 39 states she would have won the election, and she could still be flying on the tax payers dime.

It's the same people who pay for 535 members of congress to go on fact finding missions and learn that fact is it cost a lot of money to travel like this all over the world, and that they couldn't do it with out tax payer money.

So the next time you get all concerned about where all this money is coming from just remember its the tax payers. If Trump needs or wants to travel like that, he can just use the same answer Obama used, "I'm the president, I won the election." To borrow another line from Ron White, "the next time you have a thought like this, just let it go."

Oh, just one more thing, when Trump flies to Florida to spend the weekend at Mar-Largo, it doesn't cost the tax payer one red cent for him to play golf there or sleep there, he owns the place.

Thank you, and may God bless.

From just one old tired American Tax Payer, who thinks there are more important things to worry about.

Sorry, no rodeo

Yes, I just wanted to know where the rodeo was at this year for the 4th of July. They've had it for several years and they didn't have it this year. Thanks.

Talk is cheap

Roy Blunt, Claire McCaskill and Jason Smith say they support veterans yet we here in southern Missouri don't have a pain clinic nor a pain doctor. Talk is cheap, people. Remember that in November 2018. Thank you.

Cold hearted

Yes, this is to the idiot that thinks all females that aren't married should have abortions so that we wouldn't have another welfare recipient in this world. How can you be just a cold-hearted person that would say something like that? These babies are human beings that haven't been born yet. They have every right to be here. Whoever it was that put this in the paper - you need some help because you are cold-hearted. Thank you very much.

Cartoon on

the money

The editorial cartoon in Sunday's paper was right on the money! No backbone for Republicans! Actually, it's hard to tell whether they are a comedy troop or just a gathering of idiots. I've had even of both parties. It's third party here on out.

Maintain roads

Speak out. I see that MoDOT is putting new worded signs up that say, BUMP. They are permanent signs along the highway where there is a rough spot that needs repair. These BUMP signs replace the prior sign that said, CAUTION, road repair underway. Those signs, of course, were temporary.

Meanwhile MoDOT is building (proving money for building) sidewalks along Hwy. PP, walking tracks and sidewalks along of Hwy. 67 South in Poplar Bluff, They have sent money to repair the crumbled steps at the old train station. I say no new taxes for them until they learn how to take care of our money and maintain our roads. Thank you.

Aren't fireworks illegal in PB?

We thought there was an ordinance in Poplar Bluff about shooting fireworks. If there is it sure isn't being enforced and some people are on medication and all and have to listen to this right next door to them and this is going on right close to the police station, so where are the police? Thank you.

Thank's Briggs & Stratton, Pyro, Downtown PB

Yeah, I'd like to give a big thank you to Briggs & Stratton and Gladiator Pyro for the fireworks display on the 4th of July at the Black River Coliseum. Also I'd like to thank the Downtown Poplar Bluff Association and Jerrica Fox the director for putting such a good show on. I sat there with my wife and we watched the fireworks and watched all the kids play and the families -- it seems like it was just real good, clean family entertainment and I think everybody there (from what I seen) really enjoyed it. And kudos to the City of Poplar Bluff cause everything just really went well and I think that goes to show that our community is very great community and I'm proud to be livin' here in Poplar Bluff. Thank you.
