Continue to

sing loud & proud

I would like to respond to the citizen that spoke out against our local Walmart and the young greeter in that store.

I could not disagree more. First of all, the young man has a job and in America in 2017 that is a blessing. Through his greeting/singing I believe it signals that he also enjoys his job. I look forward to hearing his beautiful baritone voice upon entering the store.

During the Christmas season he dressed in a Santa Claus outfit and sang Christmas carols, which I once again thoroughly enjoyed.

Too many times I have walked into local establishments and receive no greeting and when this occurs, I always think of the man that goes out of his way to welcome me to the Walmart store. I also feel that the individual that called in to "Speak Out" should have brought this issue to the attention of Walmart management, not attacking the individual in our local newspaper.

I wholeheartedly give my support to this young man and will be watching and hoping that he continues to enjoy/keep his job. My advice to him is to "Hang in there, continue to sing LOUD AND PROUD!

Get home health

terminology right

Yes, this is in regard to "Cut over half of 'em" about all the people that are on home health. First off, let's get something straight. Those people that you are talking about are not "home health" patients. They are what is referred to as "in-home" patients. And as a health care worker I do agree that over half of them probably do need to be cut; however, it's not the agency's fault. That is determined from the state level. The state sends out a nurse or social worker from what I understand about it, I used to work in that arena, I don't work in it any more, but they send out a nurse or social worker to evaluate those patients and determine if they are eligible for services. So, it is not the agency who determines it.

Secondly, when you say "home health" you're referring to Medicare Home Health. So do you really want home health cut to our seniors? Cause that's exactly what you're saying. Please get your terminology right. Thank you.

You're talking about Buff Up the Bluff! Why don't they buff up Bartlett and tear them buildings down that have been standing for 50 years.
