A forceful reminder

The 90th Psalm is a prayer of Moses during the wilderness wandering of he and the Israelites. In it, he recognizes the eternal nature and greatness of God and that their predicament was a result of the sins of the people. He notes most of the people are dying by the time they are 70 years old. He asks God, "Who knoweth the power of Thine anger? Even according to Thy fear, so in Thy wrath." V. 11. He seems to be saying. "Who connects your anger with the brevity of life? Who recognizes your wrath as a consequence of Thy people's lack of reverence for and worship of You." Then he prays, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." V. 12.
