Scandal at the

PB VA Hospital

This is in regards to the VA scandal that we have here in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Over the weekend FoxNews ran pieces I think it was either or both Friday, Saturday and Sunday regarding the J. J. Pershing VA Hospital and what their administration is doing to whistle blowers. We have a fine doctor, Dr. Kline, who has now had to do away with this entire group of physicians and nurses and staff and sits in an office eight hours a day and draws a salary. But, the point is what we are trying to cover up at the J. J. Pershing Hospital is just as bad as what happened in Arizona and some of the other hospitals. But I'm wondering why our fine newspaper in Poplar Bluff can't pick up and print ANYTHING about it at all regardless whether it be front page, above the fold, second page, below the fold, anything? We seem to just stick our head in the sand when it comes to covering up what's good for the good ole boys in this town. But if we get an editor that has a bad feeling with regards to a politician or something of that nature, man we're ready to jump on with both feet. But my question is to Mr. Stan Berry, why? Why cover it up? Our veterans in this town and this county and in this country deserve the best that they can get from our hospitals and social services. If we are allowing people to just sit back and pass the buck and not do anything-- that's wrong! It is very, very, very wrong and there will be a reckoning someday regardless whether it's here or somewhere else, but to me, it is the duty of a newspaper to try and get to the bottom of it and inform people of what is going on. It's a sad, sad day for Poplar Bluff, Butler County, and for Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas. I would certainly appreciate seeing SOMETHING in the newspaper about it. It's really, really sad. The lives that have been ruined, just torn up, tore apart with regard to what is going on in the VA system.

EDITOR'S NOTE: We have had two stories in the newspaper about it with both mentioning Dr. Klien. One story was on Page 1 and the other on Page 3.
