I saw the good in Poplar Bluff

Thursday, March 16, 2017

To the Editor:

On March second at about 1:30 p.m., I was pulling on to 53 Hwy. from County Mart and didn't pull up far enough and drove off into the ditch. In just a minute a red flatbed truck pulled in with two men who were out and checking on me, I was terrified I was going to tip over onto the passenger side as I was holding myself up on the center console. The older man proceeded to check to see if he could pull me out while the younger stayed at my door assuring me I wasn't going to tip over. About a minute later a woman from Pyramid Health Services pulled in and bless her heart stayed right with me till I was calm enough thirty minutes later to drive. A young man in a white truck pulled in and had a tow rope and I was pulled out in no time. I was hugged and patted until they were all sure I was ok, the two men crawled under my car to make sure it was ok to drive.

I want to thank all the people who came to make sure I was ok and especially the two men in the red truck and the sweet lady from Pyramid.

You hear and read so much bad everyday but today I saw and was reminded of all the good right here in Poplar Bluff. I needed to be reminded, and I thank you Lord for the reminder and for the folks who didn't have to come to my aid but did.
