Did donut trucks

pay vendor fee?

I read in amazement this front page article about a donut shop coming from Springfield, Mo. with two truckloads of donuts and our good citizens of Poplar Bluff patronized this Springfield business. We have a local donut shop -- Donut House -- that provides good services to us and excellent donuts and pays taxes and pays city fees to have a business. I'm curious if this place from Springfield paid for a vendor's fee to stop at a parking lot and take money from our citizens. I'm also curious if they paid city taxes on what they sold within the city limits of Poplar Bluff and Butler County. It's a shame that we would support something like this rather than supporting a local business. This is why small businesses are going under, folks. Wake up and smell the roses!

Take back our

sleep, call police

Well, the warm weather has brought the loud, booming stereos, so if you're like me you've been woken up at all hours of the night by loud music. Let's all contact the police department and demand they enforce the city's noise Ordinance #7128 and let's take back our sleep.

Cutting in-home

help is deplorable

This is in regard to our fine Governor Greitens and the Richardsons from Poplar Bluff. Apparently they have forgot where they came from and the people who voted for them. This business about cutting disabled people help so they can stay in their own home -- what has Greitens and them got it in for people that own the nursing homes, trying to send them more which is gonna cost a lot more to stay in a nursing home than it does to stay in their own home. They don't pay them people a whole lot that comes in the home to take care of them, but that's what they should have to do. They hurt the poorest of the poor. Why don't they do cutting up there in Jefferson City? Cut their salary! Cut their decorating their office and all the trips they take that taxpayers pay for. People should have listened to them old men who talked about Greitens before he was voted on. They told the truth about him. It's sickening what's going on! But they all need to remember there will be another election and I used to vote for the Richardsons and thought they were half-way decent people, but I don't any more. Thank you.
