The Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 6477 held our Annual Family Picnic on Sunday, September 18 at The Eagles Picnic Campground in Poplar Bluff. Veterans of Foreign Wars, their families and invited guests attended.

It was a beautiful day, we had wonderful food, all the children played games, the adults competed in horseshoes, and most attendees received a door prize.

We were also much honored that John J. Pershing VA Medical Center made it possible for many residents to attend our picnic. In addition, we thank Butler County EMS for adding a special touch to our event, with their kind and helpful crew, their mini EMS cart that provided rides, along with all their gifts given out at their booth.

In addition we would like to thank Poplar Bluff Firefighter Justin and Terica Moyers family for bringing Pumba, for us to enjoy at the game station of "Pet the Pig". And, old and young alike enjoyed the Face Painting provided by Greenville High School Parents supporting the Junior Prom.

Our Gratitude extends to those businesses that made it possible for our Veterans, their families, and guests to receive the many door prizes available -- LeGrand Feed, LLC, Pro Nails, 5 Star China Buffet, Bras that Fit, Barker Racing Service, Poplar Bluff Cross Fit, Hayden's Drive-in BBQ, Boatner Professional Water Systems, Godwins "303" Package & Sporting Good Store, Bee Hive Natural Foods, Whitworth's Gift Chest Jewelers, Jeweler's Bench, Gregory Logistics, Inc., Luecke Distributing Co., VFW Post 5368, Morley, Mo., Eagles Lodge No. 3730, Poplar Bluff.

Our picnic next year will also be held mid-September. We encourage all Veterans of Foreign Wars, their families, and invited guests to plan on coming and enjoying the day with us.
