Social Club's 50th a memorable event

To the Editor:

The Southeast Missouri Civic & Social Club/Poplar Bluff Chapter celebrated their 50th anniversary reunion at the Historic Wheatley School Building July 2-4, 2016. We thank the City of Poplar Bluff for their cooperation in making this reunion a success. The club hosted former Poplar Bluffians who enjoyed reminiscing past friendships and reuniting family ties. The local hotels positive reception was recognized by the warm hospitality shown in accommodating our out-of-town guests and local residents.

Thanks to the many businesses for their advertisements and support. We would like to express special appreciation for the team efforts extended by Municipal Utilities Electric and Water Department and the Street Department. A special thanks to the Poplar Bluff Police Department for the security during our events. Thank you, Daily American Republic and Corey Matthews for the explicit coverage and fantastic pictures.

Please accept our apology if there are other supporters we failed to mention. The Southeast Missouri Civic & Social Club appreciates everyone's help in making this 50th Anniversary Reunion a memorable event. The warm reception expressed by the city makes us feel proud to be a Poplar Bluffian and we stand willingly to assist in community.
