Penalize city

for negligence

Hello, Speak Out. I just saw the news clip on KFVS Channel 12 about the Benton City Hall and Police Headquarters. It looked just like Poplar Bluff. They had, you know, plastic covering over their computers, their desks, and everything and I thought -- well, either some of people from Benton are in Poplar Bluff operating or people from Poplar Bluff are operating over in Benton. Regardless of the facts you're talking about literally a criminal neglect of public property. Now they had money to buy computers but no money to fix the roof. And then, they bring in the media and show how badly it is leaking. Well, somebody is responsible for maintenance on these public buildings. And I'll bet those same people who are responsible for that maintenance I'll bet you the roof on their homes are in good shape and are kept maintained.

Something wrong with that picture, folks! The public is being screwed over. A bunch of good ole boys with good salaries, good benefits, good retirement and they can't keep buildings that belong to all of us in repair.

There has got to come a time for penalties. There's gotta be a way to penalize these people for their negligence and the only way you can penalize people is to take their money away from them.

Voting can

affect your life

Aug. 2nd we are having our election in Missouri -- it's a very important election because the people who control our day-to-day life are our U. S. congressman and our U. S. senators. They are the people who make our budgets. They are the ones who decide if our veterans and our handicapped and our elderly are taken care of. They are the ones who decide to make these trade agreements. They are the ones who have poor projects and they keep us from having a balanced budget. Those are the races that are the most important critical to your daily life! As for those of you in Missouri the race for your state representative is the next closest race that you need to watch. I think for governor you really, really need to weed out these career politicians that are doing nothing for our state. And most of the people that are on the ballot -- if you have internet - you can Google them because there are lots of them who need to find a different job and the ones who are running for re-election again and again they are not your friend! They are most certainly the friend of big business. Do yourself a favor investigate each one of these candidates. Don't think a race is not important if it's not the presidential race. There are many races that are much more critical to your day-to-day life that you really need to be concerning yourself with. And don't be scared! You can cross the party lines and vote for the best person. I can see several Democrats that I would never vote for, but just as many Republicans. They have had their chance and they have greatly disappointed me and my fellow taxpayers. They are doing nothing but living off the "fat of the land" and I don't see where they have helped out state in any way.

The protesters

need to be checked

Hello, Speak Out and mostly Don. You guys have tremendous research facilities. I think it would be really nice to know how many protests and marches and everything there have been where the subject has been illegal drugs, theft, carjacking, home invasions, crooked insurance companies. Out of the hundreds of thousands of police officers in the United States you've got a few bad apples. Maybe some that have just been pushed off the edge from the quality of citizen that they have to deal with, so maybe the people who are doing the protesting the police need to be looked at really, really hard. Those that are actually out there marching and see what their history is with regards to shoplifting and car theft and burglary and the list goes on -- dope pedalling. It may very well be that those making all this noise are making noise because they want to be left alone to continue on in their daily business which is taking what other people have worked for.
