Mothers are

underrated

Yes, I do believe we underrate our mothers very much in this country. They diapered our butts and they took care of everything, and they really did a good job. And, they never asked much in return. And, when they got angry, they had a right to be. I believe they should stand up and say something against what is going on in this country. They have the power to do it and they know how to do it. So, congratulations to the mothers and the police officers that serve this state.

Twin Towers

This letter is in response to whoever wrote in about bed bugs in Twin Towers. My name is Sharon Allen, and I'm proud to say that I am a resident of the Twin Towers in Poplar Bluff. I appreciate the Housing Authority of Poplar Bluff for giving me a home that I can afford and that I can live comfortably in. Whoever wrote that letter, when you say we're picking bed bugs off of each other, you're a liar and the truth is not in you. You always have the option to move out and do not let the door knob hit you on the butt.

call me honey

Hello. This is in response to the lady who does not like to be called "Honey" or other pet names by service people who work in retail stores, restaurants or other grocery stores, etc. I don't know how this started, but I too do not like this. Just because we are seniors does not mean we like to be treated like children. We are not. These are names we use for spouses, children and grandchildren. Please, bosses, tell your employees to knock it off. Just ma'am or miss will do. If they can't do this, just a smile will do. Whoever agrees with us, please call Speakout.

Clintons' history

I've seen where Old Lady Clinton was giving Old Mr. Trump a hard time for making money off of foreclosed properties. I guess that's a lot like the pot calling the kettle black. Am I the only one who remembers Whitewater? And, the Clintons let their friend take the fall for it. People need to keep in mind their history a little bit before they start opening their mouth.

I am truly amazed at the president, senators, representatives, state and local officials who are spending an excessive amount of time on who goes to which bathroom. Will persons be required to show their birth certificates at the door to go to the bathroom in the public or school bathrooms? What a waste of time! There are more important, critical issues that require attention.

Memorial Day

event best ever

I went to the Memorial Day event that they had in front of the Coliseum and I've been going for quite a few years now and I just want to call and hopefully whoever was there will get to read this. This was probably the best one I've ever been to. The keynote speaker, Denver Kennedy, did an awesome job and was very personal and it was great. I believe it was Doyle Sappington who did an awesome job on the two songs he sang. I had three brothers serve and my father and my hat's off to all these men. They all did great. It was very good Memorial Day event. I appreciate all of them. Thank you.

Police decision

on phones bad

I think the police department did the wrong thing with the phone situation. You have to listen to a list of suggestions: press a number. Ridiculous. Why don't you just answer the phone when it rings?

Nobody home at

trash company

I'm calling about the Republic Trash Services. I've been trying to reach them on the phone for several months now. I can't get them to answer the phone. I'm on hold for 10 to 15 minutes on average and then I just get disgusted and hang up. I was potentially a new customer who wanted to take part in their services but I don't think I will now because that is ridiculous. I wonder if the owners know that someone isn't answering the phones and if they do know it's taking that long, then shame on them. That's no way to run a business. I will go with another trash company.

Anybody notice out of all the politicians in Missouri, only Claire McCaskill thinks the boys should use the same bathrooms as your daughters and your granddaughters? That what you want people? She'll be up for election in two years.
