Rude treatment

of a waitress

My family and I witnessed the most brutal verbal attack on a well known server at Ryan's Restaurant today. She was serving a very large group of Modern Woodsmen and also taking care of regular customers outside the reserved room. The man in question became enraged because they ran out of rolls. The server explained they had a new cook and he got behind but she would have them out in a few minutes...He continued to berate her while she remained pleasant and calmly refilled his coffee over and over, When the server brought the hot rolls, the jerk told her to keep them, saying, "you just didn't want me to have hot tolls."

He went on and on until he reduced her to tears. Then the final blow was as he stood to leave, he said "she is not worth 2 cents.she does not deserve a tip." No employee deserves to be humiliated in this way. We have seen this monster sitting in her area regularly. I hope she does not serve him again. He is a bad ambassador for the Woodsmen and for humanity in general. Servers are there to assist us; they are servers, not servants....

Schools, home

need discipline

Discipline is needed at all schools. Cell phone is not the only problem. Disrespect is one of the biggest problems. From 3th, 4th, 5th, 6th and on up to 12th grade. They only take cell phones away from kids they pick on. They said no cell phones at school but then they let some students use all the time. If parents have money and do a lot for school they don't say anything to their children. We all have to pay taxes to the school and don't have children in school and they don't teach respect. Children talk and tell teacher what they are going to do. Run in halls, push, bully, and destroy things. We were taught to respect all elders and teachers. It was yes ma, no ma, yes sir, no sir. Children are running wild this is why so many end up in jail, prison, boys town and girls town. And teacher said put on meds. Everyone needs to deal with the problem children. But parents need to teach respect at home first. So many parents are too busy getting high are drunk. Children are left to do as they please. Many of the children rise themselves even though they have both parents in the house. That's because they are drunk or high and have no deal what children are doing.

Nice to see better

lighting at prom

Last night I attended the Grand March preceding the Poplar Bluff High School Prom. I was delighted to see the lights kept on bright while the students made their walk. A lot of money can be spent preparing for prom such as attire, hair, makeup, flowers, etc. and most of that money is spent locally. As family, friends and community members watch it was so nice to be able to completely see everyone.

In the past, even those that chose to, or was physically unable to attend, watched on the local cable channel found the coverage to be very dimly lit. I don't know what Poplar Bluff School employees made the decision the decision this year to keep the lights on, but my family and I thank you very much!
