Pastors' sacred

money cow

My wife and I have spent many years searching the scriptures to learn for ourselves the true word of God, and the things God has revealed to us has pleased us greatly and but some of these "Revelations" have not sit well with much of the modern day church and has cost us their fellowship. The Prime example is the Pastor's sacred money cow, "Paying Tithes" These same pastors will preach that Christians are not under the law, and turn right around and tell their flock if they do not obey the law of Tithing, they are robbing God (Mal 3:8-10) Whether it be simple "Ignorance" of "Evil Intent to defraud" I do not know. But the basic truth is this, Tithing, like Circumcision, was part of the old law, Christ ended the whole law at the cross. Few of these Pastors will discuss or allow a discussion of this topic before their congregation. Of all the old laws, why do they open the door of grace to only those two which bring money into the church, those being, The law of the Sabbath (to get the people into Church), and the law of tithing, by which they collect the money after they arrive)

Demand a

new policy

After hearing all the talk about a new city hall. It is apparent that there should be put in place a permanent policy that all the peoples' buildings and property will be properly maintained, no exceptions. Someone must be held accountable not just the taxpayer.

Enough of the apparent policy of not repairing roofs. Allowing the structure to deteriorate. Then, wanting new construction, which, under the present policy the new construction will be allowed to go unmaintained. It all appears to be a set up of We the People.

If the people responsible for maintaince cannot do the job, it's past time to find someone that can, and will do the job.

As we all can see this thing called tax and spend is a big part of the bureaucratic game, played with the peoples' money.

Folks, bureaucrats will be the ruin of us all. Stop being sheep. Stand up, pay attention and let them know that enough is enough. God save the Republic.

New Wave

at it again

Well, New Wave is at it again! Can Poplar Bluff get an Internet service that really works? All weekend we'd been half without TV coverage and we've been half without Internet coverage and what are we supposed to do? Can't Poplar Bluff utilities commissioner take it back or can't our aldermen do something about it?

And then when you call in for help you get, punch this number, punch that number, then punch this number and then after you've punched all the numbers you get absolutely nothing--you just get cut-off! What a shame for Poplar Bluff!

Recipe for

Donald Trump

Concerning Mike Jensen's editorial on February 17th. To find what has made Trump a force in Republican politics, go no further than Fox News, Limbaugh and Sarah Palin, others on the far right.

1. Limbaugh--Say any vile disgusting thing you want without consequences.

2. Sarah Palin--Fail to answer any question so naturally blame the person asking the question.

3. Fox News--Tell so many lies and half truths, when caught blame the source or ignore and move on to other lies and half truths.

MIX THESE INGREDIENTS, LET THEM BECOME RANCID AND YOU GET TRUMP!

Bad experience at

revenue office

I would like to describe a recent visit to the revenue office in Poplar Bluff. The office was crowded and I should have better sense to come back at another time, but my son was getting his first driving permit so we decided to endure the wait. After an hour and a half wait, our number was finally called. The reason I'm calling is not to complain about wait time, but rather how rudely we were treated once we were finally waited on. Todd, the manager of the office, who would not disclose his last name, was the person waiting on us. He was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. This would have been understandable if we had barged into his office and complained about how inefficient his office was being run, but this was not the case. We were very polite and considerate. I understand that his incompetence creates a stressful work environment but he should not take this out on the patron.

Thanks, Todd, for turning what should have been an exciting time for my son into a miserable experience. I will be conducting my future business with the Dept. of Revenue in another location. Thanks, again, Todd with no last name.
