Farm Safety for Kids Educational Program sponsored by 4-H

Monday, January 11, 2016

The Youth Farm Safety Educational Program sponsored by 4-H is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16 from noon-2 p.m. at Ag Expo. This year, youth will walk through each participating company's booth and receive a stamp on a "passport" once they have completed the farm safety topic taught there. These passports will be collected at the final booth and entered into a drawing for prizes. The participating booths will include: Baker Implement, the Army Corps of Engineers, the National Park Service, Butler County Health Department, Monsanto, Ozark Border Electric Cooperative, Poplar Bluff Farm Equipment, and the U.S. Forest Service. Youth will learn about water safety, tractor safety, smokeless tobacco, grain bin safety, poison look-a-likes, hearing protection safety, electrical safety, and youth stress. Visit the Butler County 4-H booth to pick up your passport and begin your journey!
