Refurbish trailer for city hall

I understand the need for a new police station in Poplar Bluff, and I totally support that, but as far as City Hall and City Court--as far as I'm concerned they can do what the schools do whenever they need more room or they need something done. They take an old trailer and slap it beside the building they are already in. And there's a whole bunch of buildings downtown that could be utilized for things and let's not forget we have Kinyon School that has been refurbished. Don't know why they can't rent a space in there. I can see there is a lot of ground over there at Kinyon. They could rent Kinyon out and could put a big old trailer up just like they done for all the schools for many years. I don't see where that group of people needs a fancy building. They truly do not represent Poplar Bluff so I would say to them they need to start saving box tops and maybe they can get a good deal on a trailer after Christmas. Thank you.

Picking on the little guy

Yes, if the EPA is so worried about our health, why don't they stop these farmers from burning thousands of acres and letting blow through your house and everything else all the time instead of picking on the little guy and his wood stove? Thank you.

Help homeless

Regarding the City Council article on page one, Dec. 9, DAR--Billington's issue is bunk. It's almost certain transgenders would choose to use a booth rather than a public urinal. On the other hand, there is an immediate need for help for homeless families or people that do not meet the requirements that Chrisman brought up.

Defrauding

I'm calling about these insurance companies that come to your house and collect your premiums. I done that since 1990 on my late wife and myself and when she died I had a couple of receipts showing I paid it in September and one in August and they say when came time to collect on it they said the policy had been cancelled in January. So the agent come by and got the money from me and wrote me a receipt and I think that's a rip off and I've found out since then this happens quite frequently to people and they just absolutely cheated me and are proudly cheating a lot of elderly people and younger people around. So if you paid an agent who comes to your house you stand a chance of being defrauded cause if that agent doesn't pay that premium to the main office then you ain't got no insurance.

Hello, Speak Out. I'm referring to the DAR, Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015. Headline reads: County More Burglaries, Same Suspects. Why were these deadbeats loose? They had already been arrested. They had a long list of priors, thieving and such, and they're turned loose on the public to do more harm? What do we need cops for if that's what's gonna happen? H . . . , they ought to shoot 'em! They shoot people that haven't even done anything, so why not? Thank you.
