Definition

of marriage

Dear Speakout, I felt compelled to write about the topic of marriage, and, what it is. In the Webster's dictionary the word marry is defined as: To join as husband, and, wife, to take as husband, and, wife, to unite, to get married, to marry off and, to give in marriage.

The word husband is defined as, spouse, married man, mate, bed mate, bridegroom, man, common law husband, hubby, man of the house, and the old man.

The word wife is defined as wife, woman, and, a married woman.

In these definitions husband was defined as man, four times and, wife as women, twice.

Now from the Holy Bible I'll give you Gods definition of marriage. And, the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground and, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. And, the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman and, brought her unto the man. Therefore, shall a man leave his father, and, his mother and, shall cleave unto his wife and, they shall be one flesh. It also says be ye fruitful, and multiply.

All true believers of the Holy Bible know that God will bless, and forgive all our sins but, the same sex marriages will not be blessed by God, and are not real.

Jason Smith

a Democrat?

Anybody notice Jason Smith of representative for the 8th District voted for a trillion dollar increase in the national debt and another 80 billion in spending? It's hard to tell the Republicans from the Democrats. They've all got to go.

Put city hall

in 1 building

Yes. This is a citizen that pays taxes just like everyone else. The city hall --they want a new one. I understand that and I'm not saying we don't need a new one, but if we can't afford it why not find a building in Poplar Bluff that would be big enough to fit all that? Whether it's two story buildin' or whatever. Thank you.

PB trashiest

town in state

Yeah, instead of the city having a tree police they need somebody to go around check all these neighborhoods --people got trash in their yard, on their porch. This is the trashiest town in the state! Get off your butts and do something. Thank you.

Tree gods,

get a life

The tree "gods" need to get a life. Trees are not sacred . . . they are a renewable resource. If the trees are endangering the lines they need to be trimmed or cut down. Plant a new tree to replace the one that is cut--just not under the power lines.

The city arborist need to go off into the wild blue yonder with Kaplan and the grant writer -- we don't need a high paid arborist to tell the tree trimmers how to do their job-- my guess is they know more about it than she does and definitely more than the "do-gooders" on the tree board--they need to find a "cause"-- and it ain't trees!
