Friends of Bread Shed say 'Thank you'

Thursday, October 29, 2015

To the Editor,

Tuesday October 6, 2015 the "Friends of the Bread Shed" were able to bring "Big Daddy Weave, Jason Gray and Citizen Way" to the Black River Coliseum for a fundraiser to benefit the Bread Shed feeding programs. The concert was well received, with close to 1000 in attendance and they were blessed by the music and lyrics of these artists.

We now wish to thank the many local businesses and volunteers who made this night possible thru donations or services of various kinds. Buffalo Wild Wings, Colton's, Rowland Stolen, Subway, The Juice Café, The Bread Co., Lemonade House Grill, Harps, Lacy McArthur, and the Agee Fellowship Busy Hands ladies group provided many food donations helping keep our costs lower.

The Daily American Republic, Fox Radio Group, KFVS-12, 1st Midwest Bank, First Methodist and 1st Baptist Church assisted with advertising, promotions, transportation and articles on the Bread Shed's needs. The John 3:16 residents, Shepherds Fold residents and John 3:16 Graduate program provided hours of labor, ushers and many behind the scenes assistances. The Poplar Bluff Police Dept., Rural/Metro Ambulance, Robertson Construction and other volunteers provided equipment or were present to insure safety and comfort.

There were many "Bread Shedders" assisting in sales, hospitality, security and traffic services. Most of all we wish to thank every person who attended and or bought tickets to donate.

Lastly we wish to recognize Bobby Godwin, Greg and Vanessa along with the Black River Coliseum staff. Their knowledge, encouragement and expertise helped us save time, money and unnecessary effort.

The bands were impressed with the facility and how they were treated by the Bread Shed as well as the BRC staff. Poplar Bluff, Butler Co. and the surrounding areas can be proud of the extraordinary number of generous people who support us in our effort to feed people both Physically and Spiritually.

Sincerely,

Friends of the

Bread Shed.
