Ethical?

I was just reading the Speak Outs from the Tuesday, Sept. 22 paper and I was kinda shocked that the DAR would print one that mocks a person fighting for life with a deadly disease by putting this Speak Out in: Hold Kaplan Backers to Fire. The person insinuates that the battle for life that this person is facing and fighting is a sham and talks about holding the council responsible for Kaplan. No one has yet mentioned the hiring committee that did the scouring of all the resumes and made recommendations of Kaplan. Maybe those are the people who should be held to the fire, but I thought the DAR might be a little more cognizant of the idea that mocking someone's battle for life in their paper is maybe less than admirable, less than ethical. I think these Speak Outs need to be, I guess maybe, prioritized on whether they are harmful or disgraceful or disrespectful before they are put in the paper.

Workers win

a round

Yes, I'd just like to say I'm glad the "Right-to-Work" law will not come into effect. If you are pro union or anti union you gotta admit that this fact--business owners want to pay the lowest possible wages. If it wasn't for unions working to raise wages, the business owners would not have to raise wages in plants that are non-union, so the workers won this round, but it sure sounds like the Republican business owners are going to keep trying. Hang in there, union brothers. Thank you.

Dishing

out advise

I just noticed three of my neighbors went to DISH TV. You think that could be because New Wave is the worst cable company in the world? Thanks a lot, Bagby.

Let him pay for his own projects

Today is Wednesday, Sept. 23, and reading the paper -- our county and local officials have spent money preparing Brick's Park for another big weekend and I just wondered how much money they may have spent. They said it was minimal, but when you take out several trees and widen a curve in the road I question it because my county road has been graded twice the entire year and how they can go out there is just like going out and spending money on his park plus the Highway Patrol is gonna have people there plus the Dept. of Transportation putting signs out.

I just don't off where people can -- why do we have to help him make money? Let him pay for his own projects. Thank you.
