Sat. market

inconvenient

Who decided the Farmer's Market should be one day a week and on a Saturday? I work downtown and used to depend heavily during growing season on the kiosks set up on the Black River Coliseum parking lot during the week. I often stopped on my way home from work to pick up fresh produce. I have yet to get to the Saturday market--too inconvenient.

Farmer Market

hours are bad

Tuesday while passing the, empty, depot parking lot, I noticed a sign (leaning against a low-ground pole) not really in sight to be viewed which stated FARMERS MARKET!! Questioning myself, for wording, I circled back to reread the sign - - - - hours 8 a.m. noon - Saturdays??Really, somewhat difficult to understand?

Local famers toil untiringly to produce quality garden fruit and vegetables, for sale, to those of us who don't care to raise a garden. Garden raising time-frame is seasonably limited, once produce develops, fruits/veggies mature rapidly thus ready to market, most cannot be withheld for later sales.

My complaints - - - - here in the middle of garden season not permitting farmers who have the knowledge "When" to market. "When" produce is ready, "When" they choose. "Then" we gateful buyers can purchase "When" we desire - - - just not four hours on Saturdays. Specifically on weekdays! A good percentage of us grocery shop weekdays to avoid larger weekend shopper traffic. With that theory in mind consider permitting the FARMERS MARKET sales "when" the farmers chose, convenient location, no cost or very little to make it worthwhile, so community has access to "Good" homegrown produce! Thanks, I think?

Football yes,

classrooms no

I just saw on the front of your newspaper that big place where they're going to asphalt and all on the 5th & 6th Grade Center. I just wanted to make sure that all the board members who are spending millions of dollars on the big football field and the sports complex. We don't need no classrooms. We can get tents and put up behind the school building for classrooms.

A wonderful place to live with school taxes so high you can't afford to live here you got to get out of Butler County or this school district. A wonderful place to live. Thank you. I'd like to see this printed.
