Obeying God

Dear Speak Out: Finally Baptized.

I was turned away from many religious organization when in search of being baptized. I am not able to join a church nor contribute to their organization. I wanted to be baptized in obedience to God. I was told by many a list of rules (man-made) that I had to follow in order to be baptized. For example: number of hours of attendance, dress code, pledge of membership and monetary donation. I was so very sad until I went to Cornerstone Tabernacle. I went one day, poorly and inappropriately dressed. I asked to be baptized and told them I couldn't join nor contribute. They welcomed me, prayed with me and baptized me that night. I wish all churches would be that welcoming and drop the long list of rules. I know there are a lot of people like me out there who want to obey God but who can't for some reason or another please mankind. Why can't everyone be welcome? Isn't it God who works on our imperfections?

Maybe churches will read this and be more welcoming to the strays and sinners like me.

Iran deal is about money

While the American Congress sits and argues over the Iran deal, one only has to look at our European partners that were in on this deal to fully understand why it came about in the first place. With the release of the sanctions there will be immediately $150 billion for all of these nations to tap into. Who do you think sent the materials to Iran for building all of those centrifuges? Germany. France. Russia! Do you see where I'm going with this? It's about the money, people. And, here in America, all we'll be getting is a 10 cent drop in our fuel prices once Iranian oil starts flowing again.

So, yes, we sold our souls for 10 cents at the pump, America. Isn't that a fine thing while four Americans languish in Iranian prisons? Yes, myself, it's a bad deal. It's a bad deal all the way around, but once again, follow the money trail, and you'll find out why the world voted to dig in and dig in deep to those billions of dollars locked up. That will and would have prevented even more terrorism being spread by that Islamic state. Yes, America, you are at risk, but worse yet, we're going to see a huge influx of money into other terrorist programs.

Thank you, world, for being a little greedy and not paying attention to your own global security!

Let's hope the Municipality Board is smarter than the committee that picked Kaplan. Otherwise, we're in for a world of trouble.

Get deadbeats off welfare

Here's a little thing for our President. The thing to understand when it comes to the problem of social security disability -- the thing that the newspaper here locally said that the disability is going to run out of funds late next year. Why doesn't our President and our representatives do the correct thing? Take it from welfare payments and give it to those who truly can't work and then require those on welfare that are able bodied to make up the difference for themselves.

Myself, the only people I truly had heart for when it comes to any social welfare program are those that are truly disabled. Those that can't work any more in our society. So since welfare apparently doesn't have any chance of ever running out of money, take the money there Mr. President and apply it to the disability benefits and then make those deadbeats on welfare get out and work even if it's means picking up trash along our highways. Any work is better than just sitting there and drawing a check when you're able-bodied.

Get the point, Mr. President?
